Creating Media : Flat Plan

Task: Create your own flat plan on A3 paper. Remember to leave a border around your drawn mock-up of your product so you have room to explain your ideas in full.

MASTHEAD:

- Why did you select the name of your magazine?

I chose SAMPLE for my masthead because it is a DJ term, and as DJ is the genre of my magazine I wanted to incorporate the theme for the name.

- What font will you use and why?

I am using a spray paint- like font as a stereotype of teenagers vandalising private properties with graffiti.

- What colour of text are you using a why?

I am using bright neon colours to reflect the sensations from the lights a DJ may use at raves or parties.

STRAP-LINE:

- What is the purpose of your strapline and do you think it is effective?

My strap line is various artist names that will be included in the issue in some way or form. This gives the readers insight into who and what they will be reading about.

PRICE:

- What price did you decide on for your magazine and why?

I decided on £1.50, because the results from my survey show that a majority of people would pay between £1 and £2, therefore I went in the middle.

- Will this be affordable to your target audience?

I believe that 14 -18 years old target audience will find this price affordable as it is not too expensive and not to cheap to the point where they may thing it isn't worth it.

MAIN IMAGE:

- What camera shot will you use for your main image?

My main image will be a bird's eye view of the model as it will show the surroundings but not the identity of the person which will be revealed when read in the magazine.

- What will be in the background?

The model will be in a studio room recording their music.

- What clothes/props will your model be wearing?

The model will be wearing headphones and casual clothing to blend in with everybody else and not stand out to much.

COVER LINES:

- What will your cover line be promoting?

1. Number one is the cover line for the double-page spread, advertising the exclusive "Journey to Fame" story.
2. Number two is the cover line for "Top Tunes of the Month" which gives the reader an idea of what and who everybody is listening to and what is popular.
3. Number three is the cover line for an article on Martin Garrix's new "beats"
4. Number four is the cover line for an article based upon Craig David's new album.

- Has your magazine sought to represent any social? How?

- What images will you use to entice your readers further?

An image of the prize for the winner of the competition will be on display to
